  • 1/4 cup, chopped Fresh herbs (such as parsley, chives, and dill)
  • 1 cup Shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp water, beaten Egg wash

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients - Gather the puff pastry, cream cheese, fresh herbs, Gruyere cheese, and egg wash. Allow the puff pastry to thaw if frozen. - Ensure that the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. - Using a properly preheated oven ensures even baking of the galette.
  • Mix Filling Ingredients - In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped fresh herbs, and shredded Gruyere cheese until well mixed.
  • Roll Out Puff Pastry - On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet into a circle or rectangle, about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Assemble the Galette - Spread the cheese and herb filling evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling.
  • Brush with Egg Wash and Bake - Brush the exposed pastry with the egg wash. Transfer the galette to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  • Cool and Serve - Allow the galette to cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy warm as an appetizer or side dish.
