What you need
This Baked Spicy Party Mini Pretzels recipe inspired by Dot’s Pretzels is the perfect snack for any occasion! What I love about this recipe is the combination of savory and spicy flavors, thanks to the ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. The recipe is super easy to make and only has four steps: mix the oil and spices, add the mini pretzels, toss everything together, and bake for 20 minutes. The hardest part of this recipe is waiting for the pretzels to cool down enough to eat them! These pretzels are so addictive and packed with tons of flavor. They’re perfect for movie night at home or a party with friends. Plus, they can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week, but let’s be real, they won’t last that long!
Ingredients:
- Mini pretzels – The star ingredient of the recipe. We used Snyder’s Mini Pretzels for this recipe, but feel free to use any mini pretzels you like.
- Vegetable oil – Used to make the spice mix stick to the pretzels while baking. Can be swapped by any other neutral oil such as canola.
- Ranch dressing mix – Adds a tangy flavor to the pretzels. Can be swapped by any other seasoning mix of your choice.
- Garlic powder – Adds a savory flavor to the pretzels. Can be swapped by onion powder or omitted if preferred.
- Cayenne pepper – Adds a spicy kick to the pretzels. Adjust the quantity according to your spice tolerance. Can be swapped by paprika or omitted if preferred.
Utensils:
- Large mixing bowl
- Baking sheet – Can be replaced by a baking dish or a pizza tray.
- Spatula
- Measuring cups and spoons
Ranch dressing mix
I love ranch dressing mix for its tangy and zesty taste. In this recipe, it adds so much flavor to the pretzels and makes them taste like they’ve been crafted by a professional chef. Ranch dressing mix is not only delicious but also quite versatile. You can add it to soups or dressings, or even create your own seasoning blend by mixing it with other herbs and spices. While it’s not the healthiest ingredient out there, a little goes a long way, so you don’t need to worry too much about it. Ranch dressing mix can be found in most grocery stores, and it’s a great item to have in your pantry for when you need to add a burst of flavor to your dishes.
Cayenne pepper
Cayenne pepper is one of my favorite spices to use in the kitchen. It has a fiery kick that wakes up your taste buds and makes your mouth tingle with pleasure. In this recipe, cayenne pepper brings the heat and complements the other flavors perfectly. Cayenne pepper is not only delicious but also packed with health benefits. It’s high in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help with pain management and boost your immune system. However, as with any spice, too much of it can be harmful, so use it in moderation. While some people shy away from using cayenne pepper, thinking it’s too hot, in this recipe, it’s the perfect ingredient to add some excitement and heat to these pretzels.
What to serve it with?
As for what to serve these tasty pretzels with, my personal favorite is a cold beer. There’s just something about the combination of spice and bitterness that hits the spot! Of course, any beverage will do, but I find that beer perfectly complements the bold flavors of the mini pretzels. And hey, if you’re not a beer person, there’s always soda, lemonade or iced tea! The combination of this spicy snack with a refreshing drink is an unbeatable duo, and it’s why I always make sure to have some cold drinks on hand when I whip up a batch of Baked Spicy Party Mini Pretzels.
